Massive recruitment into the Cameroon civil service: more than 2081 to be recruited

The ministry of public service and administrative reforms has announced a mass recruitment programme.Over 2000 Cameroonians shall be absorbed into the public service. The communiqué is contained in a press release made public by the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Emmanuel Bondo Monday 19th October 2009. The release states that prospective applicants shall sit for a series of competitive exams from the 5th to the 13the December 2009. They are all expected to deposit complete applications files at the Human Resource department of the Ministry

before the 20th November 2009.The 2081 positions shall be repartitioned in 8 major domains; social affairs, telecommunication technologies, information, documentation, civil engineering, rural production, livestock and maritime fishing and animal industries. The table below gives details of the dates and number of places available.

– 30 engineers in rural engineering, category A second grade

Animal Industries

– 20 engineers in Animal Industries, category A second grade
– 10 engineers of works in Animal Industries, category A first grade
– 150 technicians of Animal Industries, category B, first grade: OPTIONS; fishing (25 positions), aquaculture (25 positions), livestock (100 positions);
– 60 agents in Animal Industries, category C; OPTIONS: aquaculture (20 positions), livestock (40 positions).

The informed segments of the population argue that the present recruitment is another concrete measure taken to curb unemployment and fight poverty. The operation is being carried out shortly after the Ministry of Defence and the General Delegation of National Security launched similar operations for recruitment into the armed forces and police respectively.
