The fifth Employment Fair organised by the National Employment Fund started on tuesday at Promote 2011.Hundreds of young Cameroonian job seekers have been presented with over 1,600 job opportunities collected by the National Employment Fund, NEF, from companies operating in Cameroon. The majority of the job seekers with assorted professional profiles but equal degree of determination will, till Friday December 9, at the Promote Exhibition grounds, be short listed, have interviews with employers and, if suitable, be recruited.
Yesterday, December 6, the eager job seekers could be seen crowded around notice boards where a number of job vacancies had been pasted. According to the communication unit of NEF, several boxes have been set up to welcome the short listed candidates, host job interviews with employers while a technical secretariat sustains the databank. Among activities featuring prominently, conferences between job seekers and invited businessmen and human resource experts have been organised to, respectively, present more job vacancies and give some practical tips on how to search for jobs and manage professional careers.Speaking to some job seekers in one of the meetings yesterday morning, Louis-Marcel Ambata, a human resource expert, warned that a good curriculum vitae shows the candidate??s competence but the latter is no guarantee to productivity and the employer??s profitability.Organisers were optimistic the fifth Employment Fair might record greater success than the 2008 edition that received over 6,500 job seekers.
