Apple requires RuTube to hide Russian public media content in iOS app

The American company Apple has demanded that the Russian video hosting service RuTube remove Russian public media content from its iOS application, or make the application accessible only to Russian users.

Due to this requirement, the Russian video host has already restricted access to the application for a number of countries, TASS learned from RuTube's press service.

"Apple proposes to solve the problem with the moderation of the Rutube application in two ways: make the application accessible only to Russian users, or remove the "state-sponsored media" content. To date, RuTube's application is available in 171 countries,” the press service said.
