Over 5,000 participants from 30 African countries are expected in Yaounde next week.The second Catholic Charismatic Renewal Pan African Congress will take place in Yaounde from August 22 to 28, 2011. The announcement was made during a press briefing at the John XXII Centre in Mvolyé, Yaounde last Friday August 12.
The meeting was co-chaired by the National Chaplain of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and Bishop of
Sangmelima, Mgr Christophe Zoa and the President of the Organising Committee of the congress, Valère Francis Baliaba. The congress will take place under the patronage of the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon. The theme of the congress will be « Africa, Rise: Be Holy, Be Authentic Apostles of Reconciliation and Peace. » The congress comes on the heels of the first Catholic Charismatic Renewal Pan African Congress which took place in Accra, Ghana in 2007.
