 Ces deux catégories de l'éducation ont reçu des enseignements sur l'environnement samedi dernier à Douala. Parents, élèves et enseignants, inscrits à la 4eme édition du «Concours Ecoles Net Ozone» (Ceno) ont assisté, à un séminaire de formation en pratiques environnementales, samedi 29 octobre 2011 au campus de l'Enset à Douala. Ce séminaire marque le lancement des activités du concours.
A la fin de ce concours, les établissements scolaires et les élèves qui auront respecté les comportements éco citoyens vont être primés. Les participants ont été instruits sur la nécessité de protéger leur environnement. The creation of environment committees in councils was one of the major recommendations of the forum that ended in Yaounde on Friday. Over 393 participants meeting at the Yaounde Conference Centre last week from Monday 24 October to Friday 28 October for the first-ever General Forum on the Environment have strongly recommended the creation of environment committees in all councils so as to enable the people participate in the management of environmental issues directly affecting their livelihoods. Equally, they strongly felt it was time to integrate environment Information-Education-Communication (IEC) approach in school and university curricula so as to make environmental protection everybody's business.

 They joined youths from other countries to make their voices heard on environmental issues. Some Cameroonian children and youth selected for outstanding initiatives and projects in the environment sector have participated in two important youth international conferences in Bandung in Indonesia and Durban in South Africa. This was disclosed by two press releases issued by the Minister of the Environment and Nature Protection, Hele Pierre, on Thursday 27 October.
