Mr Ashu Lucas, a 'self acclaimed' president of the Cameroon association in cape town escaped serious attacks from his own countrymen in the evening of the 24th of June 2010 after he was found in possession of tickets that was supposed to be shared within Cameroonians for free to go watch and cheer the indomitable lions that evening in the green point stadium. Sources close to him (Ashu) indicates that he equally received a whooping sum of R36000.00 (+-$6000.00) meant to entertain Cameroonians during and after match. He is said to be 'self acclaimed president' because during the last elections that he was forced to organize, as his reign had elapse and he was so adamant about it, he still did not acquire 50.1% to qualify him as president, worse still, he has categorically refused to form a coalition with the other candidates to give him that quota of vote. According to the polls held on the 28th of April, 2010, Ashu (incumbent ) was only able to garner 37% of the total votes. This elections was characterized the presence of South African Police Service (SAPS) in their numbers to ensure there were free and fair as well as violent free as there were rumors of such earlier. Mr Ashu's refusal to form a coalition with the other candidates are clear indications of how egoistic, corrupt and selfish he is, lamented one of his close collaborators in anonymity. This nonchalant attitude of his has led to the non installation of any government as of date. Report filtered in that in the evening of the 24th of june, 2010, Mr Ashu falsely presented himself as president of the Cameroonian association cape town, and received the sum of R36000.00 as well as tickets from the delegation from Cameroon. These tickets were supposed to be shared among Cameroonians willing to go watch the match free of charge and had themselves entertained thereafter. Rather than execute these instructions as a president? Mr Ashu embarked on corrupt practices by inviting some Cameroonian ladies to prepare food and sell for the sum of R50.00 per plate. For the tickets he had managed to sell a few with a substantial number still in his possession by the time he was harassed, he refused to hand in the remaining tickets and vamoosed. {module Publicité 300_250}Reporting from PATA-PATA where these events were unfolding, it is claimed by eye-witnesses that Mr Ashu was seriously beaten until he escaped later, the whole hall was in a state of drama where food prepared to feed Cameroonians was then splashed and spilled to the extent that "Achu soup" became the new décor of the hall, and one guy reported that "he could see people well dressed but all in Achu soup colour, smelling achu soup and water fufu and eru..." What a shame. In fact, this is not the first time Mr ashu has been linked with corruption practices. It is widely believed he rigged elections that made him president in 2007. He is also accused of using money meant for the repatriation of the corpse of a Cameroonian who passed on for his trip to London late last year. While his reign has been marred with the highest level of corruption ever with Mme Kunya and Epivo as his chief agents. D. A Amana, Reporting from Cape Town |
